Facts & FAQ
Facts About The Fever
- The Fever was established August 23, 2008 in hopes to set the standard of dance education in West Georgia. Not only do we strive to bring the best dance educators to the area, but we encourage training in the studies of Vocal & Theater as well.
- We believe that every child harbors potential. With proper education, encouragement, constructive correction, & a challenging curriculum, each talented individual can begin to accomplish their goals.
- Competitions, Trophies, & Costumes are not our main focus! While we encourage performance & even house a very well rounded dance company, we maintain that trophies are not the main goal of acquiring a proper education. Life beyond grade, middle, and high school is important. We want your child confident in their training & properly prepared for their next steps in the world of performance!
- Just want to sing, dance, or act without focusing on life after studio days? That's ok too! Everyone is different! While your dancer may not wish to pursue a career in the arts, rest assured that while they are a member of The Fever- they are receiving the proper, yet, fun education!
- The Fever Performing Arts is a Christ oriented business. While we teach & correct, push & challenge the kids- we believe that all talent comes from Christ, & we encourage that children be thankful for the gifts they obtain, never taking them for granted. Each day is a new day! We mess up, make mistakes, fall down! No matter what, we help one another back up & try again.
FAQ
Question: Is it EVER too late to Register for Classes?
Answer: No! You are welcome to join at any point in the season! Deadlines may have past for costume orders & your child may not be able to participate for annual recitals however- but they are welcome to begin classes & join in on any studio performances such as festivals, holiday events & parades.
Question: Your website says you are "Christ-oriented", we are not religious, spiritual OR do not share the same beliefs, can we still dance here & be comfortable & feel accepted?
Answer: Absolutely! We claim our faith openly as a staff so that if prayer or Christ based performances (Christmas, Easter, etc.) take place, it does not offend or catch any of our customers off guard. If prayer does happen before a recital or big event, all are welcome to participate, BUT no one is required too.
Question: Your prices are higher than other studios in the area, why should we choose The Fever, if we can get the same classes far cheaper elsewhere?
Answer: Old saying: You get what you pay for. Our teachers are highly trained professionals, all holding positions currently or in the past with some of the Southeast's top dance schools. Our staff does include student teachers- these individuals are dancing on scholarship & are mainly acting as assistants in classrooms. Also- our staff continually MUST increase their training by attending teacher or pro level workshops & also by being enrolled in Ballet classes throughout the season. In short- Our teachers are training with the kids- standing as the example that you are never TOO good. There is always room for training & improvement.
Question: My child wants to be on Company- what should he/she do to prepare for auditions?
Answer: Ballet, Ballet, Ballet! Get enrolled in as much as possible, ASAP.
Question: You charge a recital fee.. what is that?
Answer: The recital fee is set in place to ensure the quality of an outstanding show. The venue's for shows run anywhere from $1500-$3500 depending on the amount of time we rent the facility for, what sound and lighting technicians we hire for the weekend, the amount of dressing room space, and all of the props you see on the stage for your dancer's performance. Your recital fee basically establishes our capability to book the venue (as the deposit) so your child may have a dance recital! Ticket sales help to cover the final payments for the venue.
